Textile and garment exports increased by 21% from January to May

Greek clothing and textile exports increased by 21% from January to May this year, totalling 763 million euros, according to Greek Fashion, the organisation of Greek garment makers. Cotton exports, which increased by 49 percent to €257 million, led the way in this growth. Clothing exports increased 11% to €333 million.
According to Greek Fashion, apparel exports increased by 70% between March and May, following a 30% decrease in the first two months of the year.
Textile exports increased by 3% to €173 million. Imports increased by 4.9 percent (12 percent in textiles), while clothes imports increased by 2 percent to €730 million.
