A Taiwan textile company has suspended production in Vietnam due to COVID-19

Eclat Textile Co., a Taiwan-based garment and fabric supplier, has halted production at its Vietnam factory following the confirmation of COVID-19 infections among its staff.

Since Wednesday, Eclat has halted production at its facility in Dong Nai province, southeastern Vietnam. After the company reported verified COVID-19 instances, the plant’s activities will be temporarily halted till Saturday. The firm did not provide any information regarding the illnesses, such as how many employees were affected or their health status. On Thursday, Vietnam reported 801 domestically-transmitted virus cases in 11 provinces.
As of Thursday, Vietnam has 37,434 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 138 fatalities. Pao Chen Corp., a Taiwanese footwear supplier to major brands like Nikki and Adidas, has halted production at its Ho Chi Minh City facility since Wednesday. The corporation did not comply with health officials’ request to arrange for its personnel to sleep on-site in order for the business to continue operating.
