Color plays an important part in generating consumer appeal in everything from the clothes we wear to the upholstery in the automobiles we drive. However, the method through which colour is introduced to fibres has a direct impact on the finished fabric’s sustainability. Avient Corp. is a colour and additive formulator for textiles dyed using a technique that removes traditional bath dyeing. This technique uses up to 90% less water and 60% less energy, decreases carbon dioxide emissions, and reduces chemical consumption. The worldwide synthetic fibres market, including the utilisation of recycled material, is expected to grow from $62.7 billion in 2021 to $72.7 billion in 2025.
“At our 10 fully equipped fibre laboratories strategically situated across the world, we collaborate with big brands and textile producers,” Ripple said. “We enable fibres with bright, sustainable colour and industry-leading performance in everything from apparel, technical textiles, and car interiors to nonwovens and artificial turf.”
