The new Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes aimed to boost domestic manufacturing and make India self-reliant, are likely to be cleared by March, Guruprasad Mohapatra, secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) said on Friday. The government has also begun a fresher view of outdated laws and areas are being identified where renewal of permissions may be done away with, he said. The Cabinet in November gave in-principle approval to a 1.45 lakh crore PLI scheme for ten sectors including white goods, auto, pharma, food and battery manufacturing.
