According to a research paper by International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) cotton fabric has been found to be superior to all other fabrics in respect to all criteria for a face mask that are absorbed, dehydrate and deactivate the virus and apart from these factors it’s biodegradable and can be impregnated with antimicrobial nanoparticles.
This research aims on physical chmial and isoelectric properties. The fibres of cotton are found superior to polyester nad nylon in filtration and in being detrimental to viruses, pathogenic bacteria and fungi as well as in comfort and breathability
