Doublet has unveiled a brand new set of pieces from its eclectic seasonal lineup. After dropping its shipping box-inspired carton pouch, the Japanese label has opted for denim jackets and pants that have been etched with playful hand-painted food motifs.
Featured are colorways of black and indigo, displaying motifs of pastry and sushi, respectively. The black denim jacket comes with a semi-boxy construction and features images of croissants, Danishes and baguettes. The piece sees contrasting silver-toned buttons at the central opening, chest pockets and waist, complemented by tonal seams and twin waist pockets — its matching pants have been made with a slightly tapered cut. The indigo colorway comes with the same construction as the aforementioned version except detailed with vibrant illustrations of sushi instead: tamago, ikura, ebi, tuna, saba and a futomaki.
Doublet’s hand-painted denim jackets and pants are currently available on SSENSE’s website for $1,300 USD and $1,050 USD, respectively.
