Due to the response to the measures put in place to stop the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19 the 2020 International Sourcing Expo Australia and Footwear and Leather Show have been postponed to 2021.
Thousands of apparel, textile and footwear industry leaders from Australia and the Asia Pacific will converge at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the International Sourcing Expo and Footwear and Leather show on Tuesday 23 – Thursday 25 November 2021.
“ The decision to shift the next show dates to 2021 provides a level of certainty to all participants and directly responds to the current situation which must place the safety and welfare of all participants first. While it is impractical to run the physical event in 2020, we remain committed to the long-term future of the event which is designed to bring companies and industry professionals together for commerce, connection, and education We can look to an exciting event in 2021 – an event that will be needed by the industry more than ever before”, said Marie Kinsella, Chief Executive Officer, IEC Group Pty Ltd.
“It is manifestly apparent that COVID-19 is causing great disruption and pain to people throughout the world in so many ways, on many levels, as well as disrupting human movement and supply chains. We are acutely aware of the difficulties that many individuals and companies are going through in this environment. International Sourcing Expo Australia and Footwear and Leather Show Australia form part of the Global Sourcing Shows Australia portfolio of events, which also feature a Global Sourcing Seminar program. In 2020 the Global Sourcing Seminar program will be held as a stand-alone virtual event and will provide opportunities for buyers and industry professionals to learn more about global sourcing in general, changes in the current environment, and specific sourcing opportunities from individual countries and sectors. The Global Sourcing Seminar program is yet to be announced but the dates are expected to be 24 – 26 November 2020.
