Coats is collaborating with HeiQ, a Swiss manufacturing firm, to integrate HeiQ Viroblock while manufacturing its yarns. The deal also provides Coats full worldwide rights to the sewing thread technologies for usage. HeiQ Viroblock is among the world’s first textile innovations to prove successful against SARS-CoV-2 in laboratory testing.

The North Carolina Coats Technology Center – America is incorporating HeiQ Viroblock technologies to develop a modern line of threads and advanced yarns appropriate for use across a broad variety of end-use items.

HeiQ Viroblock is non-toxic which hypoallergenic, which uses microsilver technology to capture virus particles and then interact with vesicle technology to break down the virus membrane in seconds. The microsilver product, although the vesicle system is bio-based, utilizes recycled silver to boost its ecological range.

Coats is confident of the creativity that has been a core priority since establishing the three Technology Hubs in China, Turkey and the US. Such centers provide Coats technological professionals with the ability to operate on specialized machines along with business leaders and consumers in real time and create innovative technologies for all the Coats supplies industries.
