Published: August 4, 2020

The last set of Fashion Week has been organized was the Fall/Winter 2020. Its because it was the last scheduled runway before the pandemic lockdown it went full of powerful runway moments. From Givenchy to Lanvin, all seemed to have delivered a much younger collection this time around, and the colour trends are a good indicator of that.

Here are the colour trends that were spotted during the season:

Cobalt blue

Cobalt blue reigned as one of the choices of high fashion’s coveted designers. This year New York fashion week is featured lots of cobalt blue. The deep and stable blue pigment is often used to make beautiful porcelain, jewellery and transparent glass, as well as, the most stunning ball gowns, or eye-popping everyday dresses, blazers and shoes. To keep it sensuous and palatable, cobalt blue is best paired with black that adds an edge to any outfit.

Earlier this year a color therapist Constance Hart told that this shade of blue also poses psychic possibilities. With more exposure to this color, you really can tap into the more intuitive mind.

Emerald

Facing a head to head with its grounded competitor olive, emerald shined through this season. Emerald is one of the few colors that pairs well with any attire. It screaming out loud and works well if matched correctly.

Monique Luhuilliers fall presentation was magical. It brought the fantasy of Oz to life. Two-toned chiffon dresses swooped across the runway. Sheer beaded dresses with dramatic breathtaking details and touches of lace. Digital printed fabric and brocade appeared in the collection.

Scarlet red

This Runway seems an essential color for most designers. At Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton incorporated the strong colour in an equally bold tailored suit made of silk. Famous red, Valentino decided to go the accented way, as many accessories like gloves and bags showed off the colour. Bright, bold, vivid Scarlet exudes confidence and determination. It is like always been a classic juggernaut in evening parties.

Saffron

This saffron shade is the definition of wearing an optimistic color. And it looks best when worn from head-to-toe as seen in Pyer Moss, Sally LaPointe, and Rejina Pyo’s Spring Summer 2020 collections. This runway was glided with variations of yellow and works best when no embellishments involved and seems perfect for casual daytime look.

Tan & chocolate brown

Browns have already reserved their seats in Fall collection/season and this time the colour made heads turn. From Hermes making classic silhouettes in lighter tan to Mugler snatching. A fitted leather bodysuit and matching pants, deep browns are a definite trend that will last for a couple of seasons. In the evening look, the glossy browns fabric are used while in afternoons matte brown for the glamour.
