Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL), an Indian clothing retail chain, reported revenue from operations increased to Rs. 2,583 crore in third quarter (Q3) FY20 that ended on December 31, 2019, compared to Rs. 2,282 crore in same period prior year. Revenue for Year-over-Year (YoY) basis increased to Rs. 6,956 crore compared to Rs. 6,202 crore in FY19.
The company reported that the revenue for Madura Fashion & Lifestyle increased in Q3 FY20 to Rs. 1,533 crore and YoY basis to Rs. 4,236 crore. Lifestyle brands registered e-commerce growth rapidly by 45 per cent YoY. Women’s (35 per cent) and kid’s wear (21 per cent) also posted an aggressive growth in Q3 FY20.
Pantaloons in the quarter reportedly delivered a robust performance with 13 per cent growth in the quarter to Rs. 1,083 crore and 13 per cent YoY basis to Rs. 2,887 crore. Pantaloons improved product aesthetics and better availability driving performance during the quarter.
ABFRL reported total income in the third quarter and YoY basis both rose to Rs. 2,597 crore and Rs. 7,005 crore respectively.
Total expense in Q3 FY20 stood at Rs. 2,505 crore compared to Rs. 2,225 crore in same period prior year. Total expense in Q3 YoY increased to Rs. 6,852 crore from Rs. 6,124 crore in same period prior year.
Profit before tax in Q3 FY20 increased to Rs. 92.50 crore from Rs. 70.25 crore in same period prior year. Profit before tax YoY basis increased to Rs. 153 crore compared to Rs. 119 crore.
