On December 13, 2024, Northern India Textile Research body (NITRA) was named one of the Top 5 Innovative Institutes in India for 2024 by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the country’s largest industrial body. In the areas of technical textiles, unconventional natural fibers, and sustainability, NITRA has conducted and continues to conduct extensive research and development. Nearly all of the advancements and inventions have been made commercially available, and the textile and clothing industries have benefited. The culture of NITRA is infused with innovations.
In the years 2022 and 2023, CII named NITRA one of the most innovative institutes.
