For the second consecutive year, Haelixa and the Italian fashion label OVS have partnered. Their collaboration centers on the tracking and marking of Italian-grown cotton, guaranteeing openness and confidence throughout the whole supply chain.
Haelixa has expanded OVS’s cotton activities with its DNA markers. DNA is used at the gin, which is close to the farm, to identify the Italian-grown cotton. Throughout the production process, the fibers are examined to guarantee that the cotton used in OVS’s line is sourced responsibly and ethically. Through this partnership, they are demonstrating their mutual dedication to encouraging ethical and open standards in the fashion sector, giving consumers peace of mind regarding the origin of the cotton.
“We’re helping OVS bring complete transparency to their supply chain by tracking the path of the Italian-grown cotton,” said Patrick Strumpf, CEO of Haelixa. He went on to say, “The DNA marking boosts trust in the brand and allows OVS to confidently promote their products as sustainable.”
“In 2024, we are continuing our work with Swiss DNA traceability provider Haelixa to mark and track our OVS Cotone Italiano for the second year,” said Simone Colombo, Head of Corporate Sustainability. In the upcoming years, we want to get about 5% of our cotton from Italy.”
