The Tokyo-based YKK Corporation is launching a redesigned line of goods to help prolong the life of textile products. With the increasing attention being paid to reuse, this effort aims to extend the lifespan of textile products by providing simple repair choices. With YKK’s new range, broken zippers may be fixed without having to be replaced entirely by joining replacement parts with a specialized tool and repairing VISLON® zippers.

YKK’s new strategy will streamline zipper repairs at brand service centers and drastically cut down on repair time. Just the damaged portion of the zipper needs to be fixed, not the entire zipper. Repair shops should benefit from this shift toward faster, more effective repairs as it will streamline the procedure.

With its rejuvenation series, YKK hopes to cut down on waste by facilitating the repair of broken zippers, extending the life of beloved garments. This initiative encourages the fashion industry to transition to a more circular and sustainable economy where items are repurposed rather than discarded.

YKK plans to keep growing this line of repairable products while striving to solve environmental concerns throughout the fashion supply chain. The company wants to assist the industry in becoming more environmentally conscious and sustainable by providing additional solutions like this one.
