CEOs of Ronesans Holding and Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi and Erman Ilicak, attended a ceremony at Sonatrach’s headquarters in Algiers to announce the decision.
The Ceyhan Industrial Zone in Adana, Turkey, is where the PDHPP complex is set to be constructed. It will have common utilities and storage systems, a propane dehydrogenation unit, and polypropylene production facilities. Through its subsidiary SPIC BV, Sonatrach will own 34% of the project, while Ronesans Holding will own 66%. Under a long-term contract, Sonatrach will provide propane to the facility at prices determined by the world market.
This project fits well with Sonatrach’s international diversification and expansion plan, especially with regard to petrochemicals. Its goal is to turn hydrocarbons into high-value goods, which will raise their worth.
It is anticipated that the PDHPP complex’s completion will strengthen Algeria’s and Turkey’s economies and expand Sonatrach’s position in the world petrochemical market.
