IVF Mumbai Pays Tribute to Retiring Official

International Vaish Federation (IVF) Mumbai organised a significant event on the evening of August 31, 2024, at the ITME Hall of Dalmal Tower, Nariman Point, to honour the retiring Additional Textile Commissioner, Shri SP Verma. The program was themed “ROADMAP ON RESTORING GLORY OF INDIAN TEXTILE INDUSTRY,” reflecting a vision shared by Roop Rashi Madam and Verma Ji.

Purpose and Vision of the Event

Dilip Maheshwari, President of IVF Mumbai, articulated the event’s purpose, emphasising the importance of honouring senior officials who have dedicated their lives to public service. He stated that it is essential for the industrialists and business community to provide a respectful farewell to these individuals on behalf of the entire industry, a gesture they will cherish forever.

The seminar featured prominent figures, including:

    • Chief Guest: Smt. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, Textile Commissioner of the Government of India
  • Special Guests:
    • Jaikrishna Pathak, President of the Yarn Merchant Association
    • Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman of ITME
    • Principals from various esteemed textile and fashion universities and colleges, including Sasmira College, MATEXIL, and PDEXIL.

New Initiatives

During the event, the President of IVF Mumbai announced the establishment of the Textile Cell within the organisation. Shri SP Verma was invited to serve as the Honorary Convenor of this new cell.

Looking ahead, a meeting is planned with Union Minister Mr Giriraj Singh to advance the vision of restoring the Indian textile industry under the central leadership of IVF President Ashok Agarwal.

Acknowledgements and Conduct of the Event

The event was well-attended by various members of the IVF Mumbai community, including Anand Prakash Gupta, Sampat Bhandari, and Narendra Mehta. Roop Rashi Madam, Verma Ji, and other attendees praised Mr Hasmukh Bhai Shah for his initiative in organising this event.

This event not only celebrated the contributions of Shri SP Verma but also laid the groundwork for future initiatives aimed at revitalising and enhancing the Indian textile sector.
