Leading innovator in sustainable textile innovation PYRATEX and materials science startup Recover have partnered to develop a new line of recycled cotton fabrics. By offering premium fabrics manufactured from cotton that has been mechanically recycled, the partnership hopes to redefine sustainable luxury in the fashion industry.

Materials from the first series are composed of 30–50% recovered recycled cotton fiber mixed with organic cotton. Recover’s state-of-the-art recycling technology and PYRATEX’s proficiency in spinning and knitting yarns are combined in this partnership, which aims to improve the utilization of recycled materials in high-end fashion without sacrificing quality.

Both businesses pledge to maintain complete openness across their supply chains in order to guarantee moral sourcing and production methods. The textile waste that is used to make the fabrics is mechanically recycled at the Recover facility located in Spain. PYRATEX in Portugal then turns these low-impact fibers into luxurious fabric structures, ensuring the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility.

“Recycled fibers have always played a key role in our product lineup,” said Regina Polanco, CEO of PYRATEX, “but achieving premium structures with recycled cotton has been challenging. “We are able to provide our clients with high-quality fabrics composed of fully traceable recycled cotton blends thanks to our collaboration with RecoverTM.

“This collaboration with PYRATEX sets the stage for a more sustainable fashion future, where high-quality recycled fibers take center stage,” stated Boris Mercier, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Recover. Today, brands can easily obtain low-impact solutions without being constrained by conventional supply chains.
