As a global partner to textile and fashion mills and brands, Archroma creates water-saving innovations to advance sustainability and gain deeper insights into customer desires. A recently introduced idea for environmentally friendly denim manufacture is Archroma’s DENIM HALO. This creative method blends resource-saving pre-treatment and dyeing procedures with a proprietary chemical.

This special technique achieves the desired look while drastically lowering the environmental impact of denim garment finishing methods by superficially dying the yarn. The resulting product is a denim that is extremely laser-friendly, sustainable, and simple to wash without the need for damaging procedures like potassium permanganate spraying or tedious hand scraping.

The aniline-free DENISOL PURE INDIGO 30 LIQ dyes can save up to 40% of the water used in traditional dyeing and laundry processes for classic blue denim jeans, while the pre-reduced sulfur dye DIRESUL SMARTDENIM BLUE can save up to 70%. In comparison to regular sulfur black 1 liquid in synthesis, DIRESUL EVOLUTION BLACK for black denim jeans uses up to 56% less water during dyeing and laundry operations and produces unique shade and wash-down effects with an overall impact reduction of up to 57%.
