Precision Textiles, a go-to provider for innovative nonwovens and laminate solutions for the bedding, home furnishings, healthcare and automotive industries has appointed bedding industry veteran Bill Learn as director of quality control.

Learn, former director of quality control at the Global Textile Alliance and a former new product development manager at Tempur Sealy, will lead quality processes across all Precision Textiles product lines and facilities. He will collaborate closely with suppliers to uphold rigorous standards for purchased components as well as raw materials. In addition, he will ensure internal and external requirements are met and drive improvements in manufacturing operations to enhance quality, efficiency and reduce costs. Learn will also mentor the quality team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. He reports to Keith Martin, vice president of Precision Textiles.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bill to our leadership team,” said Martin. “His extensive experience in the bedding industry and proven track record in quality control will be instrumental in advancing our quality initiatives and optimizing our processes. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will make for us and our customers as we continue to uphold the highest standards in the industry.”

As a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Learn is equipped to drive customer satisfaction and bottom-line results by decreasing waste and variation. He will utilize Six Sigma tools to help solve problems and make improvements when needed. Learn will also work closely with manufacturing, sales and product development to maintain high level detail in internal product specifications across the company’s manufacturing facilities, ensuring customers receive the same high-quality product regardless of where it is produced.

“I’m very excited to be at Precision Textiles,” said Learn. “I’m looking forward to working with our suppliers to better define raw materials requirements and with our product development and manufacturing teams to advance and develop new, sustainable methods of practice and achieve overall business goals.”

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Learn pursued his MBA at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. When he is not focused on work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and volunteers as an Eagle Scout mentor.

Learn resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.
