MLV stands for Manikya Lal Verma; Padma Bhushan (1965) and the then Prime Minister of Mewar Riyasat (Prior to formation of Rajasthan State) and pioneer leader of historic “Bijoliya Movement” under whose name the college was established. MLVTEC is engaged in carrying out quality research of significance and technology development at the cutting edge. It imparts training to students so that they become competent and motivated engineers. The College celebrates freedom of thought, cultivates vision and encourages growth, but also inculcates human values and concerns for the environment and the society.
The College offers Bachelors degrees in Textile Technology, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Mechnical Engineering, Textile Chemistry and Textile Engineering branches, Master Degree in Textile Technology and Ph.D. in Textiles. It has been making special efforts to recruit talented faculty and to admit students from all over the country by a careful selection process (REAP/JEE-Mains). The Institute has about 1358 students, 33 regular faculty, 21 faculty members (NPIU), and about 100 supporting staff. It has one technological library with an online information retrieval system over the campus LAN and Wi-Fi.
