Bonfiglioli Transmissions Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., has recently invested ₹100 crores in the establishment of a state-of-the-art assembly facility in Pune. This new facility, spread across 42,500 square meters, was inaugurated in the presence of esteemed guests including customers, partners, government authorities, leadership teams, and employees.
The assembly facility aims to support industrial development in India by providing smart and efficient systems required for Industry 4.0 operations. With the western region representing a high-growth market, Bonfiglioli India has expanded its assembly facility in Pune to meet the evolving market demands. The facility boasts the highest standards of quality, safety, and advanced technology, akin to other Bonfiglioli locations worldwide.
This hi-tech, real-time smart assembly facility will serve a wide range of sectors including food, packaging, cement, steel, pharmaceutical, textile, material handling, sugar, power generation, paper, and water treatment. Moreover, it is expected to enhance the cost competitiveness and reduce lead time for Bonfiglioli products in the region.
The new facility operates from November 29, 2023, and features high-tech and real-time smart assembly operations, prioritizing an eco-friendly and people-friendly environment. It is noteworthy that almost 80% of the plant is powered by solar energy. With the expansion, Bonfiglioli Transmissions aims to better cater to over 20 verticals in the discrete manufacturing and process sector within the western region. The facility enables the company to offer a wider range of customized products along with reduced lead time and quicker delivery timelines.
In light of the expansion, Bonfiglioli Transmissions has increased its team size by hiring more skilled staff and technicians. Since its establishment in 1998, the company has been a market leader in gear motors, drive systems, planetary gearboxes, and inverters in India. It presently operates three production facilities, two in Chennai and one in Pune.
Bonfiglioli Transmissions’ annual turnover for the financial year 2022-2023 stood at INR 1,428 crores and is projected to reach 1,650 crores for the year 2023-2024. The company’s commitment to designing cutting-edge and customer-centric solutions is exemplified by the new Pune plant. Bonfiglioli aims to exceed market demands and solidify its position as a leader in Power Transmission and Drive Solutions in the Indian market.
