Santoni Shanghai Receives Regulatory Approval for Acquisition of Terrot GmbH in Germany

In a significant move for the circular knitting machine industry, Santoni Shanghai Knitting Machinery Co., Ltd. has obtained regulatory approval from Chinese authorities for its proposed acquisition of Terrot GmbH, a prominent manufacturer of circular knitting machines based in Germany. The acquisition signifies a pivotal step in Santoni’s strategy to advance the industry and solidify its position as the leading manufacturer.

With the integration of Terrot into Santoni’s ecosystem, the company is expected to witness a surge in production capacity and market share. Santoni’s Ecosystem Strategy, aimed at enhancing innovation, sustainability, and digitalization, aligns perfectly with Terrot’s offerings, particularly in the double jersey and jacquard sector.

Through this collaboration, Santoni will gain a competitive advantage in offering high-efficiency machines renowned for superior performance, low maintenance, and cost-effectiveness. Terrot’s patented UCC 572-T, a state-of-the-art high-feeder transfer jacquard machine, will be showcased during ITMA Asia + CITME, providing a sneak peek into the future of this collaboration.

Gianpietro Belotti, CEO of Santoni Shanghai, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating that it will strengthen Santoni’s position in the industry and allow them to provide a superior knitting experience to customers. Meanwhile, Robert Czajkowski, Managing Director of Terrot GmbH, emphasized the benefits of joining forces, including enhanced technological expertise and the ability to offer innovative textile performances to the global market.

Following the acquisition, Terrot will continue its operations under the leadership of Robert W. Czajkowski and Dirk Lange. Santoni plans to retain Terrot’s headquarters, facilities, brands, and practices in Chemnitz, Germany.
