Frankfurt, 31 October 2023 – In Shanghai, towards the end of November, the ITMA ASIA + CITME event will take place, where a total of 40 VDMA members will showcase their innovative technologies and solutions designed specifically for the Chinese and Asian markets. These cutting-edge offerings will fall under the theme of “smart technologies for green textile production.” Importantly, this year’s ITMA ASIA is of great significance as it marks the first major international textile machinery fair to be held in China since the onset of the global pandemic. It serves as a remarkable opportunity for industry players to come together and explore the latest advancements in textile manufacturing post-Corona.

The VDMA members present at the exhibition encompass a wide range of machinery sectors, with a special emphasis on spinning and manmade fibres, nonwovens, weaving, braiding, knitting and hosiery, finishing and dyeing, and textile processing.

The presence of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association and VDMA China will be felt strongly in the industry hub located in Hall 8 Zone B, where they will provide unwavering support to their esteemed members in preparation for and throughout the fair. This industry hub will also serve as a convenient contact point for visitors seeking information on the exhibiting VDMA members, allowing them the opportunity to stay well-informed.

The attendees from VDMA are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to strengthen their current customer connections and establish fresh partnerships at the upcoming ITMA ASIA + CITME event. For more details, kindly visit the official VDMA website at www.vdma.org/itma.

The VDMA serves as the official representation for over 3,600 mechanical and plant engineering companies from Germany and across Europe. This industry is known for its commitment to innovation, its focus on exportation, and its support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Collectively, these companies provide employment to approximately 3 million individuals in the European Union, with over 1.2 million of those jobs being based in Germany alone. As a result, mechanical and plant engineering is the largest employer among capital goods industries, both in Germany and within the EU-27. Furthermore, in terms of revenue, the sector has an estimated turnover of 860 billion euros within the European Union. An interesting statistic to note is that nearly 80 per cent of machinery sold within the EU is manufactured domestically.
