TMMA Unveils New Leadership Updates

Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (TMMA) – India, recently announced significant changes in the office bearer positions for the upcoming fiscal years of 2023-25. M Sankar, the current President of the Textile Machinery Division at Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW), has been appointed as the Chairman of TMMA. With an impressive 40-year career in the textile industry, Sankar is a highly experienced and respected professional.

Having completed his textile engineering degree from Madras University Chennai, Sankar has dedicated the past 36 years to the LMW Textile Machinery Division, where he has made invaluable contributions to the overall textile industry. Interestingly, he also served as the Chairman of LMW Textile Machinery (Suzhou) Co in China, a subsidiary of LMW, for a remarkable four-year period.

Expressing his enthusiasm about his new role, Sankar emphasized TMMA’s commitment to providing technological expertise across sectors to manufacture high-end machinery in India. He aims to strengthen the industry ecosystem, promote self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat), establish indigenous capabilities for world-class textile machinery manufacturing, and fulfil the entire value chain’s aspirations. Sankar extended gratitude to all TMMA members for their continued support and assured full assistance to the Textile Engineering Industry (TEI) in its quest for growth.

In addition to Sankar, TMMA has also welcomed Prashant Mangukia as the First Vice Chairman. Mangukia currently serves as the Director at Yamuna Machine Works. Meanwhile, Shailesh Wani, the Managing Director at Stovec Industries, has been appointed as the Second Vice Chairman. Chintan Thumar, the Managing Director at Weavetech Engineers, takes on the role of Honourable Treasurer at TMMA.

These strategic appointments signify TMMA’s commitment to promoting innovation, expertise, and self-sufficiency in the Indian textile machinery industry. With the support of its new office bearers, TMMA aims to enhance the industry’s capabilities and ensure a vibrant and successful future for the Textile Engineering Industry in India.
