Techno India Group, the preeminent private educational Group in Eastern India, has just revealed a fabric-based Durga idol meticulously fashioned by Techno India Group Public Schools, Techno India Colleges, and Techno India University students. The installation of the idol has taken place at the Techno India Main Campus located at Salt Lake, Kolkata. The ceremony was attended by esteemed film director Mr Arindam Sil, former Commissioner of Kolkata Police Shri Goutam Mohan Chakraborty, elocutionist Ms Indrani Bhattacharya, and Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group.

Sixteen students, hailing from the educational institutions affiliated with the Group, including schools, colleges, and the university, collaborated with three Art teachers to create this year’s idol of Goddess Durga. The idol was crafted using diverse fabric materials, showcasing a unique approach. The duration of the entire process was approximately one month.

Durga Puja occupies a significant position in the sentiments of Bengalis worldwide. Like other institutions, Techno India makes Durga Puja noteworthy annually. In the previous academic year, the students in this educational institution took on the role of responsible individuals poised to become future citizens. As part of their endeavours, they conceptualized and brought to life a project known as the Sustainable Durga. This year, these artisans have elevated their craftsmanship by meticulously fashioning an exquisite idol of Maa Durga utilizing a diverse range of textiles. This artwork is aesthetically impressive and demonstrates a solid commitment to environmental sustainability. “We cordially extend an invitation to Puja enthusiasts to visit our campus and personally witness this distinctive masterpiece,” expressed Prof Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, during the event.

The unveiling event commenced with a musical performance by the KOTR (Kids On The Rock) Ariadaha Band. This was followed by a ceremonial acknowledgement of the esteemed guests and a formal Welcome Address delivered by Professor Manoshi Roy Chowdhury. Subsequently, the dignitaries mentioned above proceeded to unveil this distinctive idol. The resounding crescendo of Dhaaks, played by female dhaakis, reverberated through the atmosphere, generating a magnificent celebratory atmosphere that harmoniously complemented the invocation of Maa Durga. The occasion culminated with a remarkable performance of the Dhunuchi dance.
