In addition to these materials, the manufacturing process uses additional natural resources like bamboo, cane, date palm leaves, palm fibre, water hyacinth, ‘dhaincha,’ and maize husk, resulting in a diverse range of products ranging from T-shirts to kitchenware.
These high-quality items are shipped to 39 countries worldwide, including notable nations, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. Furthermore, prestigious corporations such as KiK, Zara, and Walmart are among the top purchasers of these stunning masterpieces.
The company behind this success story is Classical Handmade Products BD Limited (CHP), which businessman Md. Tawhid Bin Abdus Salam was founded about 15 years ago. His path began with a profession in the purchasing housing industry and teaching, but he later shifted into entrepreneurship to create jobs for those with lower incomes. Starting with a small investment of Taka 1.4 million and a single employee, the project has grown into a firm with assets totalling roughly Taka 2 billion. CHP today employs 4,700 people, with 86 of them being women.
