Malihabad, which is well-known for its mango plantations, will soon be the location of PM Mitra Mega Textile and Apparel Park. According to state industries and infrastructure department officials, land for the project has been located in the Malihabad block’s Atari village.
One official spokesperson stated, “Once in place, it will provide employment to one lakh youths,” adding, “The state government is expecting an investment of Rs 10,000 crore in the proposed park, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to match global standards and beat competition.”Atari was picked, according to officials, due to its excellent location and connection. “NH-20 and SH-20, two four-lane roads that connect Lucknow to Sitapur and Hardoi, respectively, are each roughly 20 km away from Attari village. With Lucknow Railway Station 40 km and Malihabad Railway Station 16 km away, the park also offers decent rail accessibility. Additionally, the park is 45 kilometres from the Lucknow International Airport, 95 kilometres from the Kanpur node of the dedicated freight corridor, and 111 kilometres from Kanpur’s inland container depot.
The park would be developed using a public-private partnership (PPP) approach, according to officials. A provision of Rs 300 crore has been established for manufacturing units under this plan, and key infrastructure worth Rs 500 crore would be built on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are three sections to the park’s construction. to provide cutting-edge facilities: common infrastructure, social infrastructure and premium space.
The common infrastructure includes road networks, 24×7 power supply, water supply, warehouses, zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, training and skill development facilities, administrative building with product display facility and exhibition centre with testing laboratory and so on.
The social infrastructure includes workers’ hostels, housing zones, medical facilities, commercial and recreational facilities, open spaces and parks, security arrangements and so on. Similarly, the premium space consists of industrial plots and sheds.
