The installation went quite smoothly, adds Amba Managing Director Barry Goodwin. “Our team installed the machine and got it up and running from Day One, producing three-pass blackout thermal linings and technical laminations to a quality never before seen in India.”

Amba Projex, a BTMA member company based in High Peak, close to Manchester, has over 40 years of experience in the design and production of specialised technical textile machinery, with coating and laminating installations all over the world.

With the help of a knowledgeable network of local agents, we provide manufacturing companies with services in a variety of nations, explains Goodwin. Jayessh S. Nanavati and his team at Sainite Exports offer a particularly strong support in India. They were crucial in helping us secure sales in India. We attempt to deliver the most efficient equipment, on schedule and within budget, and to offer customers consultancy services based on our in-depth process knowledge.

Over the next five years, Amba will work closely with Candour to build a technical textiles powerhouse in India, leveraging the UK technology provider’s extensive industry experience.

Focus

The Malegaon JR Group’s Candour Techtex, formerly Chandni Textiles Engineering Industries, changed its name in 2022 to reflect its focus on a variety of technical textiles at its new facility in Malegaon in the Nashik District of Maharashtra.

The business was established in 1986, and its current facility in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, manufactures 1.2 million metres of light velvet fabrics annually, mostly for the domestic market. for clothing and lightweight home decor. Additionally, in 2020, it started up a 4,500-ton-per-year plastic moulded component division in Gonde, Nashik.

Many of Candour Techtex’s new products are already experiencing rising demand.

According to Managing Director JR Mehta, “the future is very positive for the technical textile industry in India with increasingly strong consumption rates in the domestic market, as well as a growing demand for exports.” We see significant potential in manufacturing coated and laminated technical textiles here because they are now heavily imported into India. However, we also have a competitive advantage in exports, and Amba is helping us to find these market prospects.

Blackout textiles

Specifically, the new Blackout fabrics can be produced effectively and at scale thanks to the Amba Projex method.

When total light shielding is necessary, blackout fabrics are put in public buildings like hospitals and retirement communities, as well as in hotels and conference spaces, as well as in private residences, particularly bedrooms.

They are given their capacity to block out light by a unique, three-layer blackout coating that is effective on all types of textiles. For the required light absorption, just the middle layer of the three coats needed to be black. Additionally, the materials are frequently finished with water- or stain-repellent properties and treatments for permanent flame retardancy. Blackout curtains don’t just block out light and provide you the most solitude; they also help to insulate a house, which lowers energy bills. preventing fading from sunshine exposure on furniture and rugs.

quickly installing

Candour has bought a second Amba Projex machine with a bigger working width of 3.5 metres after putting its two-metre-wide new coating and lamination unit into full operation.

We are quite happy with how quickly this machine was installed and how flawlessly Sainite Exports and Amba completed the unit’s commissioning, according to Mehta. They have established themselves as reliable partners as we strive to grow our company.

“Companies looking to enter new areas of advanced textile production have a lot to gain from partnering with British technology suppliers with a lot of experience in the field like Amba Projex,” continues Jason Kent, Managing Director of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA). That is a perfect example of an ongoing win-win cooperation between machine builder and manufacturer, at a very exciting time for India’s growth.”
