The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the leading organisation representing Bangladeshi garment manufacturers, has once again urged the US government to grant duty-free market access to clothing made from US cotton, emphasising how this action would benefit both US cotton growers and Bangladeshi clothing manufacturers. Reports emphasised this while also stating that the BGMEA President reached this decision during a recent meeting with Peter Haas, the US Ambassador to Bangladesh.

The BGMEA President reportedly reminded the US envoy about the BGMEA’s intention to host the Bangladesh Apparel Summit in the US in October later this year, as well as his request for US assistance in making the process of importing cotton from the US easier. asked him to lend his support in this direction.
