Shri T. Rajkumar, Chairman-CITI in a statement said that we are delighted to host the 3rd edition of the Global Textile Conclave themed “Strategies for Balancing Sustainability & Profitability in Textile Value Chain” . The Conclave aims to discuss the business cases of sustainable production.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot has been invited as the Chief Guest for the event.

Shri Rajkumar cited that Sustainability is the future of the Textile Industry. However, being sustainable will have an additional cost associated with it. This is what makes GTC 3.0 important for the Textile Value Chain as during the 3 days of the event, renowned international experts, Industry leaders, and policy experts will brainstorm to devise a roadmap that will hedge against the future costs of inaction while remaining economically viable today.

He further cited that GTC 3.0 is being organized at the most opportune time when India has assumed the G-20 Presidency and there lies an opportunity for India to contribute towards matters of global importance, with Textiles being one of those.

Shri Rajkumar also informed that to make GTC 3.0 more comprehensive, CITI is also organizing the first-ever edition of “India Textiles and Apparel Fair (ITAF)” that is well complementing the already established Textile Industry of Rajasthan, which is a significant producer and exporter of traditional textiles such as Bandhani, Leheriya, and Kota Doria besides being the largest producers of polyester viscose yarn, polyester viscose suiting, synthetic suiting material, etc in India.

Besides it, GTC 3.0 will also host “CITI Textile Sustainability Awards” which have been launched for the first time to nudge the Textile and Apparel industry to chart out a more aggressive path with both planet and people at the center of all the activities. He informed that many major Textile companies have participated in the Awards program and the winners will be announced during the event. These awards  are expected to recognise and motivate good practices that help provide more value propositions to the global buyers through sustainable responsible productions.

Shri Rajkumar said that the subsequent session will have micro-level discussions such as ; Sustainable options in fibre value chain, Investment opportunities for sustainable units, Sharing global and local practices that promote responsible production and consumption, Discussion on technology that can support better material and water management etc. to name a few. He further said that for GTC 3.0 eminent Consulting houses and Business Advisors such as KPMG, Grant Thornton, Technopak Advisors, Gherzi Textil Organisation, Wazir Advisors, Rajesh Bheda Consulting, Texfash, etc have been selected as the Knowledge Partners for the event.
