No Decline In Netherlands In January 2023.

According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), there were 3.6 lakh unemployed people in the Netherlands between the ages of 15 and 74 in January of this year. This comes after CBS recently reported that the unemployment rate increased from 3.5% in December of last year to 3.6% in January. The nation’s unemployment rate decreased somewhat by an average of 2,000 people per month from November 2017 to January.During this time, the labour force (15–74 years old) increased by 31,000 people on average each month.

The Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) reported 154,000 current unemployment (WW) benefits as of the end of January. This was an increase of nearly 5,000 over the previous month (plus 3.5 per cent). The number of WW beneficiaries in January decreased by 20% from the previous year. A total of 23,000 new WW benefits were given out, while 18,000 existing benefits were discontinued.

For a variety of reasons, 3.6 million persons between the ages of 15 and 74 did not have a paid job in January. In addition to the unemployed, 3.2 million other people were immediately available for employment; they are not included in the labour force. Most of them are retirees and others who are unable to work because of illness or a condition.

Over the past three months, this inactive labour force has decreased by an average of 21,000 per month. As a result, the inactive labour force has decreased dramatically for the second year in a row. In January 2021, there were still 3.5 million persons in the inactive labour force.

Yet, the labour force, which includes both employed and unemployed people, Since the end of the previous year, the population of adults aged 15 to 74 has significantly increased and now numbers over 10 million. 9.6 million people were still living in this country two years ago.
