For lightweight fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) parts, Freudenberg Performance Materials (Freudenberg) will exhibit surface veils and core materials at JEC in Paris, France. At the international composites show, Freudenberg will also display Enka® Solutions flow media and spacers for effective vacuum infusion, resin transfer, and foam injection moulding processes for applications in the composites industry, etc. From April 25–27, 2023, the top provider of cutting-edge technical textiles around the world looks forward to hosting guests at the Baden-Württemberg International pavilion (stand Q71) in Hall 6.
Numerous glass, PAN, and PET nonwovens as well as raw materials for the creation of light-weight fiber-reinforced plastic components are among Freudenberg’s solutions for the FRP sector. These compounds are made for anti-corrosion coatings in the construction of tanks and pipes. Smooth UV-resistant surfaces are used in applications for a variety of end goods, including facade panels. Surface veil protection is required for products constructed of fibre reinforced polymers in order to provide abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, smooth surfaces, and mechanical strength. High-tech nonwovens are available from Freudenberg that can handle these difficulties.
Adding Enka® Solutions to the portfolio
Products from Enka® Solutions are distinguished by their common 3D entangled polymeric filament architectures. They are incredibly well suited as flow medium and spacers when manufacturing composite materials because of their distinctive structure. Small- and large-scale complicated fibre reinforced plastic parts perform well at high performance levels at cheap cost and in one pass thanks to readily available solutions for VARTM, SRIM, and foam moulding processes.
