Domestic Apparel Market in Focus

Addressing the gathering, Shri Rohit Kansal highlighted the significance of India’s domestic textile and apparel ecosystem, noting its substantial contribution to the overall industry value. He observed that domestic textile consumption has historically grown at 7–8% annually, a trend expected to continue as disposable incomes rise and consumer spending increases.

He further noted that discretionary expenditure on apparel is likely to expand as India progresses toward a developed economy, underlining the importance of platforms that support domestic manufacturing and retail growth.

Scale, Collections and Visitor Experience

Spread across 7 lakh square feet, the 82nd NGF features over 1,070 stalls and more than 1,085 brands, presenting the latest Spring–Summer collections across men’s, women’s and children’s wear. The event has been designed with a premium layout and streamlined on-the-spot registration to enhance visitor convenience.

A newly introduced stall locator system allows buyers to navigate the exhibition efficiently, helping them identify exhibitors and discover new brands with ease.

Strengthening B2B Engagement

Commenting on the fair, Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, stated that the Indian apparel industry continues to show resilience, supported by steady domestic demand and an increasing focus on quality-driven products.

Rohit Munjal, Vice President and Chairman of the Fair Committee, CMAI, described NGF as one of the country’s most influential B2B trade fairs, enabling industry connections, expanding brand reach and facilitating business opportunities nationwide.

Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor, CMAI, observed that growth in India’s apparel market is being driven by urban demand, premiumisation and evolving consumer preferences, particularly among younger demographics, making innovation and scalability critical for long-term success.

Role in Industry Growth

As India’s apparel sector continues on a strong growth trajectory, with revenues projected to increase in FY26, trade platforms such as the National Garment Fair play an important role in connecting manufacturers and retailers, improving sourcing efficiency and supporting the industry’s evolution.
