.Adidas and Parley for the Oceans have released a new version of a limited amount of the iconic running shoe for World Oceans Day. The iconic shoes are created by Ocean Plastic collected from the Maldives’ coastal areas.

The shoe was produced using the most creative production process of Adidas: Adidas Customizable Fibre Technology, a groundbreaking manufacturing technique that allows specific footwear designs to be customized to each athlete’s individual needs. “This is an exciting collaboration between Adidas and Parley. By transforming waste into a running shoe, what Adidas and Parley are doing shows that even waste that is damaging the world can be used to make something different, “Zinedine Zidane said.

With the goal of creating and promoting emerging innovations for up-cycling ocean plastic waste, Adidas and Parley for the Oceans have been collaborating over the last year to transform ocean plastic into advanced yarn fibers that can be used for performance goods. This shoe is the first in a series of items Adidas will now make using Parley Ocean Plastic
