Cantabil recorded a revenue growth of 17% in FY20

Cantabil Retail India Limited, manufacturer and retailer of apparel has reported revenue growth of 17.15% to Rs. 338.04 crore in the fiscal year 2020 as compared to the revenue of Rs. 288.55 crore in the previous year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization has risen to Rs. 84.85 crore with profit after tax of Rs 16.4 3 Crore.

“The lockdown in India did impact our business, as well as none of the stores, were operational during the third and fourth week of March which has further squeezed our topline and PAT as the fourth quarter is the largest contributor to the full-year financials,” Vijay Bansal, chairman and managing director of Cantabil Retail, said in a press release.

The company’s revenue during the fourth quarter (Q4) FY20 increased by 7.08 percent to ₹99.91 crores (Q4 FY19: ₹93.31 crores). EBITDA for the quarter was ₹21.05 crore.

“This quarter we were not able to match our quarterly target but overall outperformed our yearly targets,” Bansal said.

I am happy to share that we have resumed majority operations and 272 out of 302 stores are fully functional from June. The company currently has a total network of 302 stores all over the county with over 60 new stores added this year.”

During FY20, the company’s segmental revenue break-up remained almost unchanged with men’s wear contributing 85 percent, followed by women’s wear 11 percent, accessories 3 percent, and kids wear 1 percent.
