The National Institute of Technology in Warangal (NITW) and the city-based Prime Textiles recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for educational and scientific research as part of a project under the Impacting Research Innovation and Technology (IMPRINT) initiative of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the ministry of human resource development.
Titled ‘Development and demonstration of pilot-scale hybrid waste water treatment system with hydrodynamic cavitation and biosurfactant for recycling textile effluent’, the MoU for the project will be valid for five years and will be implemented by NITW’s chemical engineering department, according to a newspaper report from Telangana.
NITW director NV Ramana Rao and Vijay Prathap Reddy, managing partner, Prime Textiles, signed the MoU.
The MoU is aimed at arranging
internships, placements, guest lectures to graduates and post graduate
students. It also aims at exploring mutual scientific cooperation between NITW
and the company.
