MSMEs to play key role in job creation: Indian minister

Indian minister for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) Nitin Gadkari recently said MSMEs will play an important role in job creation in the country. Out of six crore MSMEs, 2 crore are unregistered. Till now 11.5 crore people have got employment in this sector and a target of 5 crore new jobs from this sector has been set, he said at an event.

Twenty nine per cent growth belongs to MSMEs, which contribute 40 per cent to exports, a news agency quoted Gadkari as saying.

India needs to increase exports and limit imports and maximise capital investment in the MSME sector, he emphasised.
